Qualification/Experience BE (Electrical Engineering from HEC recognized institute/University-5 Years Experience) OR BS (from HEC recognized institute/University-10 Years Experience) with Electrical License/Certificate
Skills required for the position
1. As an Electrical Engineer the familiarity or past experience in the design, installation, operation, or commissioning of the following equipment is highly desired: Back-up generators, UPS systems, switchgear, customer substations, distribution transformers automatic transfer switches.
2. Knowledge and experience with large scale power systems.
3. Design experience with low to medium voltage power and distribution systems.
4. Experience in power system reliability and risk assessment studies
5. Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
6. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
7. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
8. Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs.
9. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
10. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
11. Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
12. Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
13. Must be quick in identifying problems and take corrective steps to resolve the issues
14. Certification in the relevant field is preferred
15. Must be willing to work in shifts
16. Must have excellent work ethics
Responsibilities
1. Provide Electrical Engineering services to design, specify, and approve power distribution required for the state of the art Data Center/Mission Critical and other facilities.
2. Interface with utility companies, construction supervisors, and vendors.
3. Facilitate power quality studies, capacity studies, remediation, UPS and emergency power strategy, short circuit and load coordination studies, and control system strategies.
4. Responsible for the quality and delivery of schematic and detailed designs.
5. Thoroughly familiar with National Electrical Code, NFPA documents, EIA / TIA standards, and building codes.
6. Operational support including review of procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
7. Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis associated with equipment failures.
8. Work with contractors and vendors to deliver efficient and high quality project turn-overs.
9. Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
10. Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
11. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
12. Performs assignments independently with instruction as to the general results expected and with guidance from Department Manager / engineering specialist on unusual or complex problems.
13. Have broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a solid knowledge of principles and practices of related technical areas.
14. Prepare equipment for maintenance and inspection (for example, shut down, lock out and restart).
15. Supervise installation of new equipment, such as Generators, ATS, and UPS
16. Ensure the proper maintenance and updating the documents and files.
17. Supervise testing and commissioning activities to make sure systems are well integrated and working properly as design intended.
18. Ability to foster innovative solutions within the project team to ensure that the deadlines are met.
19. Perform assessment and site survey of existing data center facilities and underlying electrical infrastructures to determine deficiencies and gaps as per best practices.
