ABOUT ACTED PAKISTAN:

ACTED Pakistan programmes range from short-term emergency responses to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as longer-term development initiatives. ACTED strategy is to target vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.

 Key Responsibilities:

1. Implementation of the project activities Shelter:


  1. Manage and implement the technical activities on the field;
  2. Have a complete understanding of the project implemented;
  3. Plan construction / rehabilitation activities according to project objectives time-frames and designs.
  4. Supervise and provide guidance and technical support to other field teams;
  5. Support and supervise daily skilled and unskilled workers / project volunteers and give them useful instruction regarding their work improvement, through coordination with the relevant skilled staff;
  6. Providing technical guidance, training and support to individuals targeted by each project in line with the programme strategy and intended output[s];
  7. Ensure on time completion of the tasks in line with BoQs and designs;
  8. Report to the Civil Engineer on a daily basis about progress and challenges faced;
  9. Liaising with programme staff of other ACTED teams to ensure that information is shared and that lessons learned are developed.
  10. Directly fix and repair damaged installations or facilities.
  11. Participate in the elaboration of designs and BoQs when required.
  12. Support community mobilizers and village steering committees in the identification and verification of skilled labourers.
  13. Supervise the unloading of the material on site as well as quality and quantity of the items



2. WASH Activity: 



  1. Lead and guide ACTED’s technical interventions in the base. Ensure that planned activities are successfully implemented according to quality standards.
  2. In collaboration with the programme team and coordination, determine the strategic direction of the programme in the short and medium term and map out activities, and contribute to the preparation of project proposals and budgets;
  3. Prepare Bills of Quantities and Designs as required by programmes.
  4. Collaborate effectively with other line managers and the coordination team. 
  5. Manage the programme team. Ensure that they are wholly involved in programme planning and direction.
  6. Collaborate with the Appraisal, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (AMEU) to assess need, monitor activities, and evaluate programme progress. Ensure that lessons learned in the course of implementation are integrated into the programme to ensure that it remains responsive and relevant.
  7. Provide input and regularly review all FLAT Follow-Up for ongoing programmes together with the relevant department manager and Programme Coordinator;
  8. Be alert to opportunities arising for learning, collaboration and partnership that may enhance programme quality and responsiveness.
  9. Provide relevant technical expertise/guidance to ensure that technical quality and standards are maintained during project implementation
  10. Identify and interact with existing WASH initiatives in the base, including UN, GO’s and NGO’s, and community initiatives.



3. Documentation



  1. Fill, Check & control daily Workers attendance sheet on daily basis;
  2. Ensure construction logbook and other documentation requested by the line manager is correctly completed.
  3. Control that construction materials and tools are used properly, and complete waybills to accompany any movement of stock/tools between locations in the field / between the base and field.
