Job Description:

Job Overview/Summary:

 

  • The Media and Communications Intern will be responsible for detailing overall progress, lessons learned, case studies, developing communication material within the Communications Team, preparing donor briefs, supporting the development of advocacy briefs/material, support in crafting and implementing information/awareness-raising, media campaigns and preparing the internal periodical reports for the ongoing programs (as and when requested).
  • This position requires very frequent and close coordination with all key program staff within IRC and externally with implementing and consortium partners, clusters, government authorities, and other NGOs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and provide support to country office and field team against internal information channels & communication policies and protocols, branding and marking guidelines i.e.in consultation with relevant focal points.
  • Support essential communications planning and processes that contribute to IRC's mission and work to increase the visibility of the organization and raise public awareness.
  • Support the management of IRC Communications with regular updates on campaigns.
  • Prepare analytic reports on a regular and ad-hoc basis that synthesize impact and suggest adjustments of ongoing campaigns.
  • Produce and support the production of communication products and materials like info graphics, videos, etc.
  • Assist in updating and preparation of content for ongoing campaigns.
  • Contribute to visual and digital communications, including photo gathering and editing, graphic creation and presentation, and other multi-media editing, including video and audio.
  • Help to craft and prepare information & advocacy materials and publications.
  • Supporting the development of project profiles and stories.
  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and tools for marketing and communications.
  • Assist in planning, writing, and handling various communication products.
  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and strategies.
  • Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

Coordination:

  • Collaborate closely with other sectors and IRC program teams to ensure that all relevant colleagues including department/unit lead and SMT members have updated information available at hand.
  • Attend all relevant Program Coordination Meetings, opening/implementation/review meetings.
  • Collaborating closely with different NGOs, INGOs, UN Organizations, Govt. organizations to support LNGB program particularly in protection mainstreaming, advocacy, and media initiatives.
  • Support supervisor in coordinating meetings.
  • Contribute to overall project support regarding internal/ external communication with partners with the the least supervision.

Reporting:

  • Writing and editing high-quality analytical reports, publications, website content and taking minutes during meetings
  • Writing of different high-quality progress & analytical reports, workshop reports, grants report, interim reports
  • Key Working Relationships:
  • Position Reports to Senior Partnership and Communications Coordinator

Job Requirements:

a) Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Mass Communications, Media/Portfolio Management or equivalent

b) Work Experience:

  • Fresh Graduates are encouraged to apply.

c) Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent reporting writing skills in English
  • Sound skills and experience in designing and implementing awareness and advocacy campaigns.
  • Fluent spoken English & Urdu
  • Innovative & creative (with content development, generation, and visualization)
